Co-signed Highway shields appear to dominate this gallery ... here we see the answer to the 403-East / 403-West question, 2 autonomous Kings Highways sharing the same number, separated by the Burlington stretch of the QEW.

There were 2 obvious solutions, co-sign this part of the QEW with the 403, or re-name 403-West (in Mississauga) to Hwy 410 which continues on at it's terminus.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that re-naming an entire highway would have used up more tax-dollars, so we have our answer folks. What will be interesting will be to see the new numbering system on the 403, which now runs from the 401 & 410 in Mississauga all the way South and West to meet the 401 again near Woodstock ... or is it the other way around ?
